Tennessee Association of Construction Counsel (TACC) Founders

About Us

The Tennessee Association of Construction Counsel was founded by a group of visionary attorneys, led by David Garst, whose foresight and dedication in 2003 laid the foundation for an organization that has truly transformed the practice of construction law across the State of Tennessee. For more than two decades, TACC has brought together some of Tennessee’s finest construction lawyers, cultivating a community defined by excellence, collegiality, and a shared commitment to the advancement of the profession. Through its outstanding continuing legal education programming, the Association has sharpened the skills and broadened the knowledge of its members, while the bonds of camaraderie it has fostered have made the dispute resolution process more respectful, cooperative, and ultimately more effective for the clients we are all privileged to represent. Perhaps most significantly, the members of this remarkable organization have left an enduring mark on the legal landscape itself — contributing to the development of case law and statutory law that has shaped and strengthened construction law in Tennessee for the benefit of all. These founders’ original vision has proven to be a lasting gift and we continue to be thankful to the following founders:

Membership in the Tennessee Association of Construction Counsel is limited to Tennessee-licensed attorneys dedicated to the practice of construction law in some form.  The TACC is a non-profit corporation created for the purposes of monitoring, gathering, and sharing knowledge of legal matters of interest to the construction industry, mentoring and assisting in the education and professional development of attorneys practicing construction law, and providing a forum for fraternal interaction and networking for attorneys serving the construction industry in Tennessee. Membership and Executive Board meetings are held annually in the spring and fall.
